The Union Bank of India with its headquarter in Bombay, now recognized as Mumbai, was created on 11 November 1919. In 1921 Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, opened the Head Office in the Bank of Mumbai. Union Bank played a very proactive part in Indian economic growth, increasing the credit for the needs of the different sectors. Industries, imports, trade, farms, facilities, and the respective industries have been credited by the bank to boost economic growth and generates income from a well-diverged asset base.
