St. Xavier's Collegiate School (informally known as SXCS) is an independent Catholic private day school for boys run by the Society of Jesus in Kolkata,West Bengal, India. It is one of the oldes and most respected school, founded in by the Jesuits under the supervision of Rev.Fr.Henri Depelchin, and it is named after Francis Xavier, a th-century Jesuit missionary to India. The school completed its sesquicentennial year in . The school is affiliated with CISCE (which conducts the ICSE and ISC exams in Grades and ) as well as the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (which holds the Madhyamik exams after Grade ). Students are given a choice of following either of the two boards up to class or follow the Indian Council’s board for classes and . However, fewer students opt for the West Bengal board and classes are held only for the ICSE and ISC boards for the th and th standard.
