Mr. Banmali Babu the then MLA, took great interest and pain in the establishment of the Institution and supported, and cared for the sisters till his death. The mission of the sisters was to impart sound education through formation of character and the all round development of the students, spiritually, physically, academically and culturally. The school progressed steadily. Later, Odia medium section from class I to V was added free of cost along with coaching classes for the weaker students. The SJC had its humble beginning in 1964 and it has already celebrated its golden jubilee. Today more than 3300 students are studying here following the ICSE curriculum. The ISC wing started in 2006. From the year 2020, it has also added humanities stream along with science and commerce. An outstanding change has taken place recently in physical structure and in all other areas. The contemporary society undergoes various changes in all aspects of life. So also the face of SJC has a new look, vigour, opportunities & facilities in academic & co-curricular activities.
