About Us
The Mahadev Bhimtal Bhimeshwar Temple is a former Shivah Temple. Bahadur, King of Kumaon region of Chand Dynasty, constructed Bhimeshwara Mahaddy Temple in the 17th century. During their time in Vanavasa, Bhima (a Pandava) went to this temple and devoted people crowded during the Shivaratri festival. Rameshwar Mahadev Temple was named after Bhim's strong Mahabharata story. Bheem traveled once to the Himalayas all of them by itself, according to the Skandpurana.
